This was the brand's first permanent flavour extension since Dr Pepper Strawberries and Cream in 2023, released by Keurig Dr Pepper in both regular and zero sugar varieties.
The can design leans into the flavour with a deep, dark colourway blending Dr Pepper's signature maroon with rich blackberry purple tones, fruit imagery sitting alongside the classic Dr Pepper logo. The 12 fl oz format is the standard US single-serve can size, and the back of the can carries the brand's American consumer careline, marking this out clearly as a US market release rather than a European import.
The launch was driven by hard sales data: blackberry-flavoured carbonated soft drinks were growing more than twice as fast as the wider category in US dollar sales in the year before release. At launch, fans speculated it was a revival of the cult 2019 Dr Pepper Dark Berry, released alongside Spider-Man: Far From Home, but Keurig Dr Pepper confirmed Blackberry is an entirely new recipe. The release came shortly after Dr Pepper overtook Pepsi to become the second best-selling soda in America.
Inside is the original blend of Dr Pepper's 23 signature flavours combined with sweet blackberry.
Available nationwide in the US across cans, bottles, fountain and frozen formats.
An American import and a snapshot of one of the most talked-about US soda launches of 2025.
